Apart from its mouth-dropping scenaries, Mussoorie has carved a niche in the arena of tourism for its glittering fairs and festivals marked by great pomp and show of talent. These fairs and festivals call upon tourists from various parts of the country.
Autumn Festival
Considered as one of the prime festivals of the hill station, Autumn Festival is organized by the Municipal Board which stretches for 10 days characterized by great pomp and show. The entire hill sation dazzles during the festival and attracts a whopping number of visitors and participants. Events like theatre plays, roller skating shows and several other sporting events create a different scenario. The festival is attended by several eminent personalities which include Governor, Chief Minister and other ministers making it one of the major features of the hill sation.
Summer Festival
A colourful festival, organized by Nagar Palika Parishad of Mussoorie. The Summer festival is immensely popular among the locals and the visitors. Number of events such as debates,seminars, folk dance performances, magic shows, game shows and cultural parades make the entire festival a great colourful display of spirit and talent.
The Bhadraj Fair
Another glittering fair which is organized by Bhadraj temple usually held during Shravan Sankranti every year. This fair is attended by a large number of devotees and it does attract a huge number of tourists. The locals also take part joyfully in this fair. |
