Gun Hill

Got its name since the British used to announce time in the afternoon by firing a cannon. Gun Hill may be ascended on foot. It is the second highest peak in Mussoorie. Badrinath and other snow peaks are seen well in the light of the setting sun. From Gun Hill, the beautiful Doon valley and Mussoorie city are visible.

The Campti Waterfall

Located at a distance of 14 km from the city on ChakrataBarkote road at a high altitude of 4500 feet, the biggest waterfall, nestled among a cluster of cliffs, cascades several thousand feet down. This is a wonderful sight during the monsoon. A British officer John Mekinan, around 1835 converted this place into a popular Tourist Destination. It is believed that the name Kempty is probably derived from 'camp-tea', as the British, during their rule used to organize tea parties here.

Camel’s Back Road

Got its name since the mountain raises like a camel's hump along the road. It can be viewed from the Mussoorie Public School.

Happy Valley

A pine-surrounded Tibetan refugee colony, Happy Valley is situated 3km to the west of the Library near Convent Hill. See the various Gumphas, Chortens. Prayer flags, buy curios from the Tibetan shops and enjoy Tibetan food memos and noodles.

Lal Tibba

It is the highest point of the Mussoorie Hills, 4.8km from the Tourrst office Mussoorie Hills. From Laltibba, picturesque Himalayan view is worth watching. Bandarpunchh 6316m through the west. Swargarohini 6252 m and the Gangotri group covering the east — every peak is visible.

Childer’s Lodge

The highest peak of Mussoorie near Lal Tibba, Childer's Lodge is situated at 5 km from the Tourist Office. One can go on horse back or on foot. From here the snow clad Himalayan beauty can be captured through binoculars or telescope. Tourists Can walk, take a horse, rickshaw or taxi to reach there.

Mosi Waterfall

This is a wonderful place for picnic. On foot 6 km away from Childer's Lodge, Mosi Waterfall is surrounded by dense forest.

Jharipani Fall

Located at 8.5 km from Mussoorie on Mussoorie-Jharipani road. One can go by local bus or car up to Jharipani from where the fall is about 1.5 km on foot.

Nag Devta Temple

Situated on Cart Mackenjee road about 6 km from Mussoorie, this Shiva temple or Snake God Temple is ancient in its origin. From the Temple, the spectacular Doon Valley and Mussoorie city are seen well.

Bhatta Waterfall

An ideal place for picnic, about 6 km away on Dehra Dun Road, can be reached by bus or car.

Municipal Garden

Formerly known as the Botanical Graden, this newly developed place is an ideal picnic spot, 4 km along Waverley Convent Rd and 2 km by foot or on horse back. Built in 1827 boating facility is there in the modern artificial lake, 8 km away from the lake, the panoramic view can be enjoyed by trekking.

Mussoorie lake

This lake is 6 km away on Dehra Dun Rd. Boating can be done here stepping down 100 steps in the lake. It offers a spectacular view of Doon Valley and nearby villages.

Jwalaji Temple

Situated on Benong hill, Jiwaji Temple surrounded by thick forests, is about 9 km from Mussoorie. The temple has an old idol of Goddess Durga provides a spectacular view of Yamuna Valley.

Dhanaulti

The Deodar and Pine shaded Dhanoulti (2286 m) is famous for its view of the Himalayas. The sunset on mountain slopes is enthralling, Take a horse ride or trekk to the view tour to enjoy the fascinating Grandeur of Garhwal Himalayas. The chirping and twittering of birds, the scent of flowers and fruits enhance the beauty of the lonely forest path in Dhanoulti.

Clouds' End

Situated at a distance of 18 kmfrom Mussoorie, this is the most favored haunt for honeymooners. Originally a bungalow built by a British Major in 1838 by a British Major, Cloud's End has now taken the shape of a hotel. Surrounded by thick Deodar trees and a wide variety of flora and fauna, the Resort offers a spectacular view of snow covered Himalayas and the Yamuna River.

Chamba

Chamba is a fair of apple orchards and blossoming rhododendrons. Chamba is famous for its ethereal beauty. In spring, Chamba wears a hue of reddish golden apples. Far away are the snow clad Himalayan peaks.

Van chetna kendra

Situated on Tehri bypass road, surrounded by pine forest and flowering shrubs, this park houses Ghurar, Kakar, Himalayan peacock, Monal etc.

Benog Mountain Quail Sanctuary

Sprawling over an area of 339 hectares, this old sanctuary is the habitat of the extinct bird species Mountain Quail (Pahari Bater) which was last spotted in 1876.11 km to the south of library point

Lake Mist

Situated on the Mussoorie-Kempty road, this place is is a good picnic spot, studded with accommodation, restaurant and boating facilities.

Sir George Everest House

It is also known as Park Estate. The building and laboratory of the first Surveyor-General of India 1830 to 1843, Sir George Everest, after whom world's highest peak Mt. Everest is named is here. It is 6 km from Gandhi Chowk and vehicle can go right up to the place. The place provides mesmerizing view of Doon Valley on one side and view of Yamuna Valley and snowcovered Himalayan ranges on the other. A beautiful place for picnic and trekking.
